Set in the beautiful grounds of Oakhaven Hospice, The Coates Centre is a friendly and welcoming drop-in 'Hub', which is open to anyone whose lives have been impacted by any illness or need bereavement support following the loss of a loved one.
Providing a service for anyone living in the New Forest, Waterside and Totton communities, The Coates Centre offers a safe haven to meet and share with others who will understand what you are going through; where you can find support to help you cope with the everyday challenges that you are going through.
A range of social and wellbeing activities and courses can be accessed to make your journey easier to manage, and The Coates Centre offers 4 peer support groups: Dementia Support; Brain Tumour Support; Respiratory Support and Advanced Cancer Support.
There’s no need for a referral or be known to Oakhaven Hospice. You can drop in anytime whether you have had a recent diagnosis, or you are living with a long term condition, perhaps you are a carer, or you have lost a loved one and need bereavement support, then The Coates Centre can provide information and support.
Trained volunteers welcome and guide you to information, along with a cuppa and slice of cake. Visit whenever you wish during opening hours – call in for a drink and chat, join one of the support groups that meet at the Centre, take part in one of the wellbeing activities, or just simply sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
