Opened in October 2014, we are now acknowledged as a centre of excellence in Clinical Education, Information & Community Support.
The Coates Centre is named after Phoebe Coates who, in memory of her late husband John, donated the buildings and gardens in which Oakhaven Hospice and The Coates Centre are now situated.
The Centre is a purpose-built area, separate from the Hospice buildings yet over looking the well tended gardens. It was designed to create a modern social environment as a place for the community to come to for free information, advice and support in times of need.
There is an accessible ground level ‘Hub’ lounge area ideal for coffee and chat, talks and lunches. Beyond this, also on the ground level is a separate large activity area The Oak room that overlooks the beautiful gardens and Tree of Life. This easily lends itself to bigger groups and/or physical activities such as Yoga or Meditation, with constant underfloor heating.
On the second floor there is more formal meeting room, ideal for training and business events.

We also have specially designed Complementary Therapy and Counselling rooms booked on an appointment basis.
